A Personalized Approach to Learning

While our popular "Period Parties" offer a fun, social environment for groups of kids to learn together, we recognize that every child learns differently.

The Period Prep Program is specifically designed for families who prefer:

  • One-on-One Support: A private, tailored experience where we can focus deeply on your child’s specific needs, such as sensory preferences, questions or worries they may have, and physical comfort.

  • A Quiet, Focused Setting: Ideal for children who might feel overwhelmed in a group or who simply prefer the privacy of a 1:1 conversation.

  • Customized Problem-Solving: A chance to dive into specific challenges—like navigating periods with sports, sensory sensitivities, or recognizing mood changes & patterns—at your child’s own pace.

Already attended a Period Party? This program is an excellent supplement to our group workshops. If your child enjoyed the "Period Party" but now wants to build their own personalized "Relief Toolkit" or do a deeper dive into which products work best for their unique body, this 1:1 series is the perfect next step.

How the Program Works
Step 1: The Parent Strategy session

The Period Prep Program is a two-step experience designed to bridge the gap between "knowing the facts" and "feeling prepared." We move at your child’s pace in a relaxed, non-clinical environment that feels like a laid back learning experience, not a doctor's visit.

60-Minute Private Consultation (Virtual or In-Office)

Before we involve your child, we meet one-on-one to build a practical roadmap. This session is about the "behind the scenes" logistics—making sure you have the right supplies and the right words ready to go.

Based on your family's specific needs and concerns, we may cover:

  • Puberty Landscape: Jointly determine where your child is on their puberty journey and talk through typical stages of development, signs that first period could be arriving soon, etc.

  • Product Logistics: Comparing products (pads, period underwear, etc.) to see what is realistic for your child to manage during a 5-minute school passing period or at sports practice.

  • Troubleshooting the "What-Ifs": Planning for common hurdles, such as how to handle a period starting at school or how to pack a "silent" period kit for a backpack.

  • Communication Scripts: Practicing clear, age-appropriate ways to explain body changes so you aren't searching for the right words in the moment.

  • Goal Setting: Deciding exactly which topics you want me to lead with your child to ensure the joint session feels supportive and aligned with your family values.

Outcome: You leave with a "Scripting Guide" for tough questions and a custom plan for introducing period basics based on your refreshed knowledge and targeting your child’s specific needs.

75-Minute Collaborative Meet Up (In-Office)

I act as a neutral expert to facilitate a relaxed, empowering conversation for you and your child together. Please note: This is an education-only session. Everyone stays fully dressed - there are no physical exams, just conversation.

Based on your child's questions and comfort level, we may cover:

  • The "Hands-On" Lab: Seeing and handling various supplies. We can practice the "mechanics"—like how to open packaging quietly—so they feel like a pro before they ever need to use them.

  • Demystifying the Body: Using high-quality anatomical models to walk through exactly what is happening in the body in a matter-of-fact, easy-to-understand way.

  • The Relief Toolkit: Learning practical physical tools, including specific stretches and breathing techniques, to help manage cramps and period-related discomfort in the classroom or at home.

  • Custom Q&A: Answering the specific "I'm curious about..." questions your child has in a safe, judgment-free space.

Outcome: Your child gains body literacy, interacts with a variety of product options, and learns body & mind practices to optimize well-being & confidence while transitioning into a new life chapter as someone who menstruates.
